SOCHUM

Agenda Items:

- Discrimination against immigrant workers in Western Europe
- Regulating immigrant intake from non-developed and developing countries

As the world grows ever more connected with itself, mankind is brought together under shared ideals, beliefs and values. And with the creation of the “Global Village” people from all four corners of the world want to move around the Pale Blue Dot in search of better opportunities, higher quality of life or to escape a grave situation in their homeland. In this new wave of globalization, a growing amount of people have pushed back against immigration and have taken a stance, especially people from the more prosperous countries. In the committee of SOCHUM, tasked with addressing the preservation of human rights when it is at most risk, you must find a lasting resolution to both the issues of over-immigration and the racism faced by immigrants and especially immigrant workers in their new homes.

The total elevation difference from the highest point on Earth to the lowest point is around 19,778 meters and even if humans don't live in most of this range, choosing to occupy a small chunk of this range, many live in unreachable, out of the way or inconvenient locations for a variety of reasons. Yet, they are still both citizens and human so they deserve and require the full functions of the government to be served to them, yet many do not get to indulge in the privilege. That is why it is the job of SPECPOL to reunite the forgotten and ignored people of the world and support them both with humanitarian and political help. From drinking fresh water to voting or even being seen in court. These people deserve and require the full function of both the government and the UN to survive.

H-UNSC

Agenda Item:
-The Troubles

Both the hunger for freedom and the thirst for power are polar opposites that make humanity special, in no other species but the most vicious and murderous of apex predators will you observe such hunger for liberty coupled with the call for conquering what others have. Many stories within history are very similar to this tune, and one such story is the story of the IRA and its fight with the imperial force of Great Britain. For as long as the Irish and British have been in contact, they have been bitter enemies and it is no different for the IRA and their terrorism against the tyranny of the British. In a war with no black and white and countless civilians losing their lives to both armies, the Isles are in an explosive situation with even the slightest key turn igniting the chain reaction. Or will the butchers apron get stained As the UNSC you must provide security to all four corners of the world and to conflicts near and far, with the Irish rebellion being a key one in both Europe and history itself. In this committee you will discuss and find a solution to the Irish Republican Army and their burning call to arms.

IMF

-2008 Financial Crisis

The day that society stopped minting coins and switched to paper was the first horn of the oncoming armageddon. dough until they got too ambitious, the investors in mortgage backed securities pulled out and everyone was left with a burning pile of money. In such a grave situation, it is the job of the IMF to both bail out nations in need and secure the global economy to keep the cogs of the world economy from jamming up.

DISEC

The winds of time and the winds of the Sahara are very similar, they currently whisper songs of war. Africa has always been a place of war from the birth of the modern man 70.000 years ago to the current day. And, as long as there is senseless conflict, there will be the innocent
to be caught in the crossfire. Sadly, the innocent are dodging lead in Central Africa to this day. From the ruthless terror faced by the residents of the Sahel region to the conflicts in the Central African Republic, DRC and many more nations. This fighting, be it documented slaughter or skirmishes lost to time, are a leading cause of death, injury and the loss of both life and human capital. It is the job of the DISEC committee to disarm, aid and nurture the stinging wounds of war still fresh on the continent of Africa, and the world at large.

HCC: Battle of Stalingrad

One of the most pivotal moments of World War ll, The Battle of Stalingrad was the costliest and bloodiest war both in World War ll and in World history. Fought between the Red Army and Axis allies, Stalingrad was the entrance to the Caucasus oil fields and a major trade route of the USSR. Delegates will need to fend off the Axis powers, strategize accordingly and act fast to gain the upper hand in both the battlefront and in World War ll however; the prolonged war, morale of the Red Army and the seemingly endless resources of the Axis allies means that this will be far from an easy job.
